"The library is the temple of learning and learning has liberated more people than all the wars in history." - Carl T. Rowan
The Library Media Center is an exciting learning environment where students can explore their own interests as well as curriculum content, where teachers can find materials to enhance student learning, and where the media specialist is working with all members of the learning community to improve student achievement. Charles Hart's Library Media Center is the information hub for the community and as such will encourage all students to become independent thinkers, engaged readers, lifelong learners and responsible users of technology.
The library media specialist teaches research skills, not in isolation, but as they are needed by the students for school specific projects as well as in their everyday lives. It is expected that students will become independent and self-reliant as they learn to locate, access and use the resources necessary to solve their problems. Working together, the library media specialist & teachers see to it that students are able to utilize the resources and technology available to them in their schools to empower themselves in preparation for their future.
